Kalyani Priyadarshan Nair, born on April 5, 1993, in Chennai, is the daughter of Malayalam filmmaker Priyadarshan and actress Lissy. She did part of her schooling in Singapore and completed the rest at Lady Andal School in Chennai. She then went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Parsons School of Design in New York. Before starting her acting career, Kalyani took part in the Adishakti Theatre Workshop in Pondicherry. She also worked behind the scenes in films, as an assistant production designer for a few films.
